Quality starts before the first bite
A good meat snack should be more than a strong flavour. Quality starts with clear product information, carefully selected meat, a balanced recipe, reliable packaging and a texture that fits the product type.
Whether you choose beef jerky, pork jerky, chicken jerky or meat sticks, the product page and packaging should help you understand exactly what you are buying.
1. Check the ingredient list
The ingredient list should be easy to find and specific. It should show the meat type, seasoning ingredients, preservatives where used, flavourings, stabilisers and any other relevant ingredients. For mixed boxes, the product page should explain that the box contains several products and that the individual product labels provide the complete details.
For meat snacks, seasoning can make a big difference. Original, barbecue, teriyaki, jalapeno, paprika, bacon, cheese and chives, sour cream and onion, or Thai sweet chilli each have a different recipe. A good product page should not hide that behind vague wording.
2. Read the allergen information
Allergen information matters. Our range may include or may contain allergens such as cereals containing gluten, milk or lactose, soy, eggs, celery, mustard, sesame and sulphites, depending on the specific product and recipe.
If you have an allergy or intolerance, always check the product page and the packaging before ordering and before eating. If anything is unclear, contact us before purchase.
3. Look at nutrition values per 100 g
Nutrition values make comparison easier. The most useful table is usually per 100 g because it lets you compare different products on the same basis.
Protein, fat, carbohydrates, sugars and salt can vary significantly between beef jerky, pork jerky, chicken products and meat sticks. Some products in our range are high in protein, while selected pork sticks are low in sugar. These claims apply only where the individual product meets the applicable conditions and where the claim is shown for that product.
4. Match the texture to the product
Jerky and meat sticks are not meant to feel identical. Jerky usually has a firmer, more structured bite. Meat sticks are a compact snack format with their own texture and chew.
Quality means the texture feels intentional and consistent: not overly dry, not rubbery, and not so soft that the product loses character.
5. Packaging and freshness
Meat snacks should arrive sealed and protected. Do not eat a product if the packaging is open, damaged, swollen, leaking, contaminated or otherwise unusual. Check the best-before date and storage instructions on the packaging.
6. Choose the format that fits the occasion
Single-flavour packs are useful when you already know what you like. Mixed boxes are better for tasting, sharing or gifting. Our selection includes beef, pork and chicken jerky, meat sticks and mixed snack boxes so you can choose by flavour, texture and format.
Final check
Before buying, review the ingredients, allergens, nutrition values, pack size and product images. Good meat snacks should be enjoyable, but they should also be transparent. That is the standard we use when building product pages for THE JERKY.
